EMI Closeout Panels: The request was for a custom EMI closeout panel, a solution outside Av-DEC's standard materials and product offerings. The Av-DEC engineering team collaborated directly with the customer to understand the application, performance requirements, environmental conditions, electromagnetic interference concerns, fit constraints, and operational expectations for the aircraft modification. Instead of adapting an off-the-shelf product, Av-DEC focused on defining the right materials and engineered a purpose-built EMI closeout panel designed and manufactured to the customer's exact specifications. This project reflects Av-DEC's ability to deliver engineered solutions when standard options fall short, combining materials expertise, hands-on engineering support, and close customer collaboration to return a critical aircraft component to service with confidence.
BlackBox / LRU Sealing: Av-DEC offers HI-TAK connector gaskets that are electrically conductive for EMI protection and environmental sealing, commonly used for connector gaskets, panel sealing, and LRU sealing and mounting.
Av DEC provides custom gaskets for the Girt Bar to reduce corrosion on the girt bar attachment with an Av-DEC HI-TAK gasket plus Self-Leveling Green sealant. The HI-TAK gasket is pre-cut to the shape of the girt bar, is designed to stop moisture ingress by sealing the entire surface, and utilizes the Av-DEC Apply and Fly technology for easy installation. Replace the current sealant with Av-DEC Self-Leveling Green on the pan drain fastener for added corrosion prevention.
