Material Scientist / Chemical Analyst / Formulator

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the lead engineers by performing lab testing and analysis in an accurate and efficient manner.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Perform testing in accordance with industry standards and procedures
  • Perform hands-on lab work, such as designing, fabricating, characterizing, and evaluating materials
  • Technical writing (test plans, procedures, reports) to document performance of products
  • Assist lead engineers in the areas of corrosion, materials, sealants, polymers, and protective coatings in the aviation industry
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific or engineering discipline, or adequate experience to commensurate with Primary Job Duties listed above
  • Ability and desire to work in a laboratory environment
  • Familiarity with common analytical techniques
  • Ability to handle chemicals in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability and desire to work cohesively with the existing engineering team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with common laboratory safety standards
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in any of the following: machining, power tools, fabrication
  • Experience with aviation corrosion and/or corrosion prevention
  • Experience with ASTM and ISO standards
  • Experience with primers, coatings, surface treatment of powders, and polymers
  • Familiarity with paint application techniques
  •  AutoCAD experience

Technical Sales Representative

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for being the primary contact for their assigned customers, helping them to solve their corrosion-related issues by offering superior technical support.

This is a remote position.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Innovate – Create – Partner
  • Serve as technical sales point-of-contact for assigned customers and manage account activities
  • Work closely with Airlines, OEMs, and MRO customers
  • Frequently visit customers for product demonstrations and installations
  • Target new products, customers, and product approvals to generate new business
  • Provide leadership and guidance for key customers to drive sales
  • Work with customers to implement the library of Av-DEC approvals, including service bulletins, OEM approvals, product approvals from other operators, part manufacturing approvals, and supplemental-type certificates
  • Attend industry tradeshows to network and showcase Av-DEC products
  • Develop and maintain priorities and milestones
  • Report and present project/program status to the team and senior management
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives and timelines
  • Coordinate activities among multiple departments, including sales, engineering, materials, and operations
  • Manage technical information from multiple engineering sources, including design, manufacturing, testing, and materials to maintain clear program focus and direction for both internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • Aerospace technical background with a working knowledge of the airline approval process
  • Experience working for an Airline, aircraft OEM, MRO, or aerospace manufacturer
  • Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and Bombardier aircraft family knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to comprehend structural and electrical drawings
  • Capacity to walk and balance on various aircraft structures and climb into small areas
  • Willing and able to travel on a regular basis, both domestically and internationally
  • Flexibility required, as work shifts may vary due to installation demands and release deadlines
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to be able to complete assigned projects and tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Must be dynamic, intuitive, innovative, passionate, honest, and responsible

  • Prepare orders by processing requests
  • Pack boxes and place orders in delivery area
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Follow Quality Management System work instructions
  • Follow Safety practices
  • Treat material with care and concern at all times
  • Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors
  • Keep warehouse clean and organized

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 2+ years' experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
